Samedan is a resort, located in the centre of the Upper Engadine and it is an attractive place with its gorgeous nature, fresh Alpine air and perfect climate.
Just above the village a ski lift will take you to a ski track very suitable for children, beginners or people who like tobogganing. You can also go to some other ski pistes in the region via train or bus. One can visit the Corviglia-Marguns and go down from there straight to Samedan. There are also available cross-country ski tracks as well as well-maintained paths for the winter hikers. Another place for tobogganing is the 4,2 kilometers long run on Muottas Muragl

Switzerland (German: die Schweiz, French: Suisse, Italian: Svizzera, Romansh: Svizra), officially the Swiss Confederation (Latin: Confoederatio Helvetica, hence its abbreviation CH), is a federal republic consisting of 26 cantons, with Bern as the seat of the federal authorities. Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world by per capita gross domestic product, with a nominal per capita GDP of $67,384. Switzerland also has one of the world's largest account balances as a percentage of GDP, only placing behind a few oil producing countries. Zurich and Geneva have respectively been ranked as the cities with the second and third highest quality of life in the world. In 2010, World Economic Forum deemed Switzerland the world's most competitive country.
